So, what exactly is rVibe and what does it do?
In a nutshell, rVibe is free software that you use to organize the music on your computer, discover and download new music and share music with your friends. And by the way, when you make recommendations for music to a friend and they download it — you get rewards.Is it like iTunes, Napster or Yahoo Music?
Some things are similar, but there is a lot different (and we think better). With iTunes, you install it, browse to the iTunes store, and buy music. With Napster and Yahoo, you install it, pay a monthly fee and rent music (you can also pay more to buy). With rVibe, you install it, find music with your friends (or get recommendations), buy music and get rewards.Wait, I get rewards?
Yes. Everytime someone download a song from you, you get a nickel. It's just a little way we say thank you for using rVibe.I'm not really interested I the "nickel", you say I can donate it to charity?
Absolutely — that's a foundation of what we do. Pick from one of our charity partners and keep track of the total donations. Together we can buy music to do some good in the world.People get music directly from me? Is that legal?
Yes, it's 100% legal. You can only get licensed files from our collection of 1 million + tracks, and there is no illegal swapping in rVibe.But is it safe? I don't want people browsing my computer.
It's totally safe — no one browses your computer. When you see your friends' information, or they see yours, the information is actually on our central server. The only time your computer is touched is when our server facilitates a secure download from you.So, what kind of music can I get?
There is a tremendous range of music to experience — everything anyone has on their computers. Out of that, you may download over 1,000,000 different tracks, and purchase CDs of pretty much anything else. And all the music you download is in 320 Kbps, MP3 format and DRM free!MP3 - DRM free? Does it work with my iPod?
YES! Since all the tracks we sell are MP3, it will work with virtually any player, including iPods - and there are no restrictions like iTunes, Napster or Yahoo. Oh, and by the way, the sound quality is FAR superior to iTunes and those othe services.What if I want to download the latest "top 40" track, can I get that?
Right now you can't download things like that; you can however, audition a portion of the track and buy the CD from us. We're working constantly to expand our download selection and you should be able to get those tracks soon.So is this really a service for "indie" music fans?
Nope — it's a service for finding music through your friends; where you can get downloads and CDs. And we're working to expand our download selection all the time!What do you mean I can stream music?
When you buy and download a track, it's yours on your computer to use how you want. However, you might not want to buy the track, or you might want to sample the whole thing - a few times. In that case you can "stream" it - where it arrives on your computer and you can listen to it, but you don't keep it. When you stream a whole lincesed song - it only costs $.03. And every time you stream a song, it reduces the price to download (to a minimum of $.78) - not bad - listen to music and reduce the price!But I can also stream my own music for free, anywhere there is a web browser?
Yup - part of the free rVibe service is free streaming of your own music. When you register and leave your computer on, you can logon to the rVibe website from any other computer and listen to your whole library - for free!Ok — how do I get started?
